for spacing, it’s okay to have them equidistant. This is particularly
important if you are thinking of hanging them over a sofa. You
don’t have to stretch them out over the furniture.
If you don’t have a huge piece that will dominate the wall,
don’t worry. Small pieces in a cluster can create an effect that
beckons the viewer to come closer.
One of the most overlooked aspects of adding art to the
home wall is lighting. Galleries pay particular attention to the
atmosphere they create with lighting, using it to enhance the
effect. You can create a nice touch with adjustable track lighting
or portrait lighting above art pieces.
SOME FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
1. Don’t judge your artwork by its price. There are a number
of affordable online art galleries that offer great works without the
hefty cost.
2. Fabric and wallpaper are sometimes used to accent art.
Keep that in mind as you are contemplating what pieces may fi t
your situation.
3. Any room of your house is suitable for art. That means don’t
overlook the dining room or even the bathroom (presuming that
your piece won’t be susceptible to the humidity of the shower).
4. Don’t try to hang your art yourself. Two people allow one to
hold the piece in place while the other makes sure the placement
and alignment are in synch.
5. As with other things in life, balance is a key. Don’t group
