Titans can’t hold on with
Trevians in battle of state’s elite
New Trier is having one
of its most successful seasons
in recent memory,
having dropped only one
game — to nationally
ranked Sacred Heart out
of Kentucky. Not only
have the Trevians beaten
every team in Illinois,
they’ve done so relatively
easily. They looked to
continue that streak when
South on Oct. 2 in
Northfield.
pick up their 13th win
when they faced off in a
Central Suburban League
battle. Like all of their previous
in-state games, however,
out on top, picking up a
6-0 win.
Trevians, their coach,
Tom Rosenbaum, is
well together as a team,”
he said. “The games
we’ve won, we’ve played
pressure defense, we’ve
played really good offense
and communicated really
well.”
“There’s no magic in
what we really do here. It’s
just hard work,” New Trier
coach Stephanie Nykaza
said. “We’ve got a really
solid team, and we need
