Youth Clubs are Great Places…<br />

Children<br />

...to make friends and learn new skills. Research even<br />

suggests happier children. These are a handful of our<br />

local clubs.<br />

Potterspury Youth Club<br />

Potterspury Youth Club opened its doors 20 years ago<br />

to village children - it now welcomes youngsters from<br />

neighbouring villages. The DBS checked organisers<br />

provide a mix of activities, fundraising opportunities,<br />

food tasting and trips. They’ve enjoyed pancakes and<br />

a Northampton Aqua Park. They offer games tables,<br />

Free WIFI, phone charging, other activities and a tuck<br />

shop.<br />

Term time only, every Thursday £1 per session<br />

School years 3-6 - 6.00pm-7.30pm<br />

School years 7-9 - 7.00pm-9.00pm<br />

Potterspury Youth Club<br />

York House Youth Clubs<br />

With structured activities to chill time with<br />

friends, youngsters are supported by trained and<br />

experienced staff. There are arts, crafts, drama,<br />

sports and recreational activities. Secondary school<br />

children have access to indoor sports, cookery, team<br />

gardening projects, arts & craft. Workshops have<br />

included carpentry, fencing, homes for wildlife and<br />

graffiti. Challenges include a recycling project and<br />

photography. Trips also take place.<br />

Term time only, £1 per session<br />

Children aged 8-12 years -<br />

Mondays 6.00 pm – 7.30 pm<br />

All young people of secondary school age -<br />

Wednesdays 6.00pm – 7.45 pm<br />

activities like indoor and outdoor sports, music quizzes<br />

and cooking. An Xbox, table football, snooker and<br />

pool and table tennis keep youngsters entertained.<br />

Regular trips take place.<br />

Starmaker Youth Group<br />

The focus of this group is friendship and fun, you’ll<br />

find games, crafts, food and quiet time. Over the<br />

last year they’ve played balloon volleyball, shrink-it<br />

keyring making, scavenger hunts, churchyard cricket,<br />

egg blowing and indoor fireworks. They are affiliated<br />

to Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs<br />

and supported by James, Church Youth Group Coordinator.<br />

Church connection is not a requirement.<br />

£1.50 per child<br />

From 7-12 years of age. 4.30-6.00pm, Third Saturday<br />

of the month (except July and August)<br />

Castlethorpe Youth Club<br />

Community spirit is key as aside from the regular<br />

activities the club assists with the village fete, duck<br />

race and senior citizens Christmas lunch. They’ve<br />

repainted the railway bridge, cleaned street signs and<br />

distributed leaflets. DBS checked volunteers support<br />
