BITS AND BOBS
SPREAD THE WORD
In September, James and Lizzie Dandridge
took their Viva along on a hot-air balloon
flight, to celebrate Lizzie’s 30th birthday…
which was back in 2015. It can take a while until
the conditions are just right and, after ten
attempts since her birthday, they finally got
airborne, launching from Hollingbourne near
Leeds Castle and drifting for ten miles over
the Kent countryside. From all accounts, it was
well worth the wait.
And here’s Marita
Hewitt with
her copy of the
August issue, on
Mystery Island:
an uninhabited
dot at the southernmost
point
of the Vanuatu archipelago. The photo was
taken by her husband, Michael, an erstwhile
Lewesian who moved to Australia in 1989. He
keeps up with what’s what in the old country care
of his sister Vicky, a resident of Glynde, who posts
him a copy of Viva each month.
