“I had heard about plans for a new cinema and<br />
wanted to get involved in the best way I know<br />
how – with my camera. I suggested to director<br />
and programmer Carmen Slijpen that monthly<br />
site visits would provide her with images she could<br />
use to publicise the building’s progress and the<br />
project. Luckily for me she agreed. I spent two years<br />
photographing the journey from disused industrial<br />
building to award-winning cinema.<br />
My preference is to start any architectural<br />
documentary before the construction team have<br />
moved in. When I first arrived at the Depot >>><br />
