about developments “bombarding”the parish
CRANBROOK, SISSINGHURST
and their surroundings
are experiencing an
unprecedented bombardment
of planning applications by
various housing developers.
They are all jumping in
prior to our Neighbourhood
Development Plan (NDP) and
the borough-wide Local Plan
being determined.
Both Cranbrook and
particularly Sissinghurst
have never faced such huge
expansion that will affect all
our lives and the resulting
consequences on the local
infrastructure.
It is extremely important
that when a planning
application is submitted to
Tunbridge Wells Borough
Council (TWBC), particularly
by a developer who will likely
affect the quality of life in
your own surroundings and/or
that of the local community,
that you take the time and
trouble to write or email your
views to TWBC.
The yellow planning notice
placed adjacent to the possible
development site will give
basic details and the planning
reference number – which
should always be quoted in
any written response.
For those on the internet -
search for our borough council
website and select Search
for Planning Applications,
read Comment on a Planning
Application and then carry out
a Simple Search to bring up
the details of the application.
To comment online you will
need to register with the
borough.
It is important to download
and read the useful TWBC
leaflet Having your Say before
commenting.
For those not on the
internet - write a letter to the
borough, quoting the planning
application reference number
and the site name, and
send to: Planning Services,
Tunbridge Wells Borough
Council, Town Hall, Tunbridge
Wells TN1 1RS.
Your views are important
and are taken into
consideration by the borough
council – every comment,
email or letter counts - so
please just don’t leave it to
others.
Don’t let developers do
what they want; if land has
to be developed, it should be
what we want!
