It takes a lot of hands and helpers to produce the exceptional work on our<br />
Mainstage, and Volunteers support Portland Stage in many ways. We are always<br />
looking for ushers, greeters, stitchers, and more, and all volunteers are<br />
encouraged to make as big or as small a time commitment as they can. We are<br />
eternally grateful to our <strong>2017</strong>-18 Volunteers, many of whom have been<br />
donating their time and talent to Portland Stage for years!<br />
Volunteer Spotlight:<br />
Sophaktra Heng<br />
“My favorite memory of the <strong>2017</strong>-18 season was<br />
ushering during It’s A Wonderful Life. I enjoyed<br />
it so much, I went and saw it again with my<br />
sisters. Also, I have to say, there’s something<br />
about the holidays: seeing families laughing and<br />
enjoying their time together while watching a<br />
holiday show at Portland Stage always brings<br />
a sense of warmth and nostalgia. And as<br />
a patron, there isn’t a holiday show my family<br />
and I ever miss, whether it’s A Christmas Carol,<br />
It’s A Wonderful Life, Snow Queen, or another<br />
holiday show. I know my family and I will always<br />
be there for it!”<br />
“I have only been<br />
volunteering at Portland Stage<br />
for two and a half years, but it certainly<br />
feels like much longer than that! I’ve always<br />
loved theater, and have seen a few Broadway and<br />
Off-Broadway shows, and I thought volunteering as<br />
an usher at Portland Stage would be a great way to<br />
continue enjoying that passion. Additionally,<br />
it’s always a treat to hear what the patrons<br />
thought of a show<br />
