STAFF Portland Stage is committed to strengthening our staff and promoting a philosophy of continual, collaborative improvement. In working to develop effective methods of communication throughout all levels of the organization, our full-time staff meets regularly to assess and refine goals with a focus on professional development. Several current staff members are former Portland Stage interns: a clear demonstration of our belief in the importance of training and supporting future generations of theater professionals. INTERNS The future of theater relies on the passion, commitment, and training of young theater artists. Through our Intern Program, Portland Stage is advancing the evolution and growth of one of the world’s oldest art forms—helping to ensure its relevance despite the challenges facing the performing arts in the 21 st century. 2018-19 INTERNS Kelsey Book, Sets Intern Stephanie Collins, Stage Management Intern Paige Farley, Education Intern Dylan Gurrera, Directing & Dramaturgy Intern Carlee Ihde, Costumes Intern Emily Lawrence, Education Intern Terysa Malootian, Stage Management Intern Meaghan Parker, Company & General Management Intern Rebecca Rovezzi, Directing & Dramaturgy Intern Vianey Salazar, Electrics Intern Eileen Thoma, Costumes Intern Jae-Yeon Yoo, Directing & Dramaturgy Intern The members of the 2017-18 intern company have gone on to positions at Roundabout Theatre Company in NYC, The Juilliard School, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, and other theaters around the country From post-production meetings following each Mainstage show to mid-year individual intern reviews, the intern company is given the opportunity to shape their learning experience at Portland Stage. As in years past, the 2017-18 intern company embraced the opportunity by engaging with directors and playwrights on the new play development process, getting hands on experience with sound design for a staged reading on our Mainstage, learning how to take a show on the road during our school tour of Julius Caesar, participating in leading activities in after school workshops and camps under the guidance of a Master Teacher, and providing research for a new play produced on our Mainstage. 25
