has come out in support<br />
of a trust being formed to<br />
govern the future of the<br />
residential red zone.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Avon Otakaro Network<br />
says the management<br />
of the 600ha of land needs<br />
to be “robustly debated”<br />
and has suggested a local<br />
trust be established.<br />

released its draft plan for<br />
the area, which included<br />
an 11km Green Spine<br />
from New Brighton to the<br />
central city.<br />
Ms Dalziel told city<br />
councillors at the meeting<br />
that she liked the idea.<br />
“I was quite taken in a<br />
positive way with the idea<br />
of some form of community<br />
trust that is able to<br />
take that role,” she said.<br />
“To me that’s really local<br />
leadership at the most<br />
fundamental level.”<br />
Ms Dalziel said it was “no<br />
surprise” that she had that<br />
opinion.<br />
