People were invited to a workshop run by local
police at Northpoint Shopping Centre last Thursday.
The police had coffee and a chat with people
to stress the importance of the Lock it or Lose it
campaign.
Acting Superintendent Stephen Angus said the
police need your help to better serve and protect
the community.
“We are trying to engage with the community
through coffee with a cop so they can understand
how important it is that they lock their homes and
cars,” he said.
“We have a large proportion of reported crime
that relates to unlawful entry of a motor vehicles
and there are numerous instances daily where vehicles
have been left unsecured, and, sometimes
keys left in the ignition.”
