How do you do that?
Read your bible every day. Read your bible
because it changes you. Each morning,
remember all the things God has done for
you and all the blessings He has given you.
Pray for your pastor and his family.
What advice would you give someone
who , s going through a tough time in
their life?
I’d tell them to keep walking because you’ll
come out of the valley eventually. Every day
is a good day; some days are just better than
others. Count your blessing aloud and name
them one by one until you start feeling
better. Don’t think of what you don’t have;
think of what you do.
You were married to Pawpaw for 59
years before he went to Heaven, so what
advice would you give on marriage?
Let your husband be the head of the home
and you be the heart of the home. The
body can’t live without the head and the
heart working together. Let him have the
last word, and you set the tone for how
your home feels so it’s a place he wants to
come home to. Keep God first in your
marriage and He will take care of you.
What advice would you give on
raising kids?
Learn to overlook the small things. If my
kids didn’t keep their rooms clean all the time,
I’d just shut the doors. Pick your battles
and tell them you love them every day.
What advice would you give on work?
You’ll never have anything in life if you
don’t work for it. Work at your job as if
you’re working for the Lord and not men.
You , ve always cooked three homemade
meals a day. What advice would you
give on cooking?
Life makes more sense the messier the
kitchen. Don’t use the fat-free stuff
because it’ll never taste as good as the real
stuff. Make extra so there’s always room at
your table for one more.
What advice would you give on beauty?
Beauty comes from within. You can be
pretty on the outside and downright ugly
on the inside. Pretty is as pretty does; that’s
what people will remember you by.
What advice would you give to someone
when they , re feeling tired?
Sit down and take a rest for a while. After
you feel better, get back up and get back to
what you’re doing. More than likely, what
you’re doing will be there tomorrow.
You , ve always loved to garden.
What gardening advice do you have?
Keep up with the weeds in your garden,
and in your life, before they get out of
control. Make sure that when you water,
it reaches the roots. Every insect loves an
eggplant. The more you cut zinnias, the
more they will make.
