“I feel like I was put on this earth to serve
others, and I do that with my hands.
Jimenez recently opened a new physical
therapy clinic in Gluckstadt. “We opened the
Monday after Thanksgiving, so we are really
new to this area.” Performance Therapy,
located at 464 Church Road, is an offshoot
of Dan Young’s clinic in Carthage. “I worked
in that clinic with Dan. It had a huge impact
on the folks in the Carthage, Sebastopol,
and Philadelphia areas.” A Madison resident,
Jimenez likes that the new clinic is close
to home.
“I really never get tired of doing what I do,”
Jimenez says. “I feel like I was put on this
earth to serve others, and I do that with my
hands. I love to see people restored to
health on a daily basis. I think this is what the
Lord wants me to do. I really feel that it’s a
calling, and at the latter phase of my work
life, I realize now, more than ever, how
important that is.”
Jimenez’s service to others isn’t limited to
his work. He served on the Madison County
school board for 12 years then rolled off the
board when his children were in college.
“They weren’t in Madison County schools
any longer, and I didn’t see the need to
serve. So I took a five or six year hiatus.”
Becoming a step-dad to younger children
changed the game for Jimenez, however.
“I toyed with the idea of going back to serve
on the school board again, then I embraced
the idea, and a couple of years ago I started
another term.”
When he was working downtown,
Jimenez did work with the folks who ran
Mission First. “I provided services for many of
their clients, and have committed to helping
them the best I can, even though I’m no
longer working near their location. My desire
and love for people only grows stronger,
and practicing physical therapy is something
I want to do for a long time to come.” l
