Germantown Speech and Debate Team competed at the Singing<br />
River Classic at Pascagoula High School. The following students<br />
placed at the competition: Kristen Arrington; 1st Place in<br />
Storytelling, 1st Place in Expository Speaking, and semifinals in<br />
Novice Poetry Interpretation. Christopher Barber; Broke to Super<br />
Congress (finals for Congress). Anna Duong & Sara Munoz;<br />
Semi-finals in Policy Debate. Emma Ellard; 3rd in Declamation,<br />
5th in Prose Interpretation. William Lindsey; 1st in Impromptu<br />
Speaking, 3rd in Prose Interpretation, 4th in Humorous<br />

Germantown’s Marine Corps JROTC recently competed in a<br />
close order drill and color guard competition held in Jackson,<br />
Mississippi, at Cardozo Middle School. The competition was to<br />
determine the regional champions for the western region of<br />
Mississippi. Led by Cadets J.D. Harrill, Mason Bunch, Haley<br />
Brown, and Alan Beasley, the Mavericks of Germantown took<br />
home the hardware as regional champions. The top three<br />
schools have the opportunity to go to the state championships<br />
held at Jackson State University.<br />
