Music Niagara’s Performance Academy is a 9-day program offering a<br />

unique blend of individual lessons, masterclasses, chamber music, interactive<br />

workshops, and public performances, for gifted young musicians<br />

age 12-18; to improve, complement and enhance musical performance and<br />

stage presence.<br />

Masterclasses: open lessons, and solo/group chamber music instruction<br />

with acclaimed faculty and festival artists;<br />

Workshops: public presentation, vocal skills, body language and performance<br />

presentation style;<br />

Drama: from Shakespeare to improvisation, scenes, games, text and activities;<br />

Period Dance: body movement and fitness, dancing to the music you play;<br />

Alexander Technique: relieve physical stress, improve performance<br />

Orchestra North Owen Sound boasts a renowned faculty of nationally<br />

acclaimed musicians specializing in diverse musical styles that will inspire<br />

musicians of all ages and abilities. <strong>2019</strong> Programs include: Beginner<br />

Strings (half-day): A fun and engaging introduction to string playing and<br />

orchestra (ages 5-10); Orchestral Winds & Strings (full-day): An intensive<br />

training program for musicians eager to develop their technique and<br />

refine their musicianship skills (ages 10+); Orchestra North Academy<br />

(residency): A mentorship program for musicians currently enrolled in<br />

or recently completed post-secondary education to train and perform<br />

with our professional faculty. Academy players receive honorariums<br />

upon completion of the program. Financial assistance is available for all<br />

The Vocal Academy returns to Stratford Summer Music for a fifth year<br />

and will offer intensive training in professional preparation (opera,<br />

oratorio, art song) and in performance skills for six to eight graduate,<br />

post-graduate, and early professional-level singers, and for two pianists<br />

pursuing a career in vocal accompaniment. Participants will receive daily<br />

individual sessions with the internationally recognized faculty, and will<br />

take part in Master Classes which will be open to the public. The program<br />

will culminate in a Finale concert with all participants.<br />

New this year: the opportunity to work on vocal chamber music with visiting<br />

professional string players. <strong>2019</strong> Faculty - Phillip Addis, voice; Emily<br />
