Class: Thursday 9.15am, interval.<br />

Best aspect? I loved the way I could<br />

see how my body was reacting to<br />

each exercise. Sometimes it’s really<br />

difficult to know if you’re pushing<br />

yourself too hard or too little, so<br />

having to hit the ‘orange zone’ made<br />

it easy.<br />

I wish… I didn’t sweat so much! I<br />

would recommend a headband or<br />

wristband, because you will sweat!<br />

Results? I enjoyed my session. The<br />

whole process was clean-cut, simple<br />

and effective. The trainer worked<br />

me hard and to my fitness level,<br />

which is unique to everyone.<br />

Class: Tuesday 9.15am, strength.<br />

Best aspect? Being able to take<br />

everything at your own pace. On<br />

the treadmill, I found the ‘power<br />

walk’ the best option for someone<br />

who has fallen off the fitness wagon.<br />

Also, the heart monitors – you’re all<br />

on an even playing field, all aiming to<br />

push yourselves into the right zone,<br />

as directed by the coach.<br />

I wish… the timetable suited my<br />

lifestyle better.<br />

Results? My legs were like jelly<br />

by the end of class! Knowing the<br />

calories continue to burn long after<br />

you’ve shed the gym gear was<br />

particularly satisfying.<br />

Class: Friday 5.30pm, strength.<br />

Best aspect? Individualised, yet<br />

motivating group environment with<br />

really attentive staff, fab facilities<br />

and good to see a range of ages<br />

sweating it out alongside me. I like<br />

the research and physiology behind<br />

each workout designed to keep the<br />

metabolism charged post-sessions<br />

– if you hit your orange zone target<br />

for 12 minutes.<br />

I wish… I didn’t feel like a sparrow<br />

with a broken wing lifting weights.<br />

Results? Session was hard, but in<br />

a good way, and I had no trouble<br />

reaching my orange zone (had a<br />

troubling tendency to red in fact!).<br />
