BY REACHING HEARTS

At the heart of the Dream Centers is their desire to rescue those who have been enslaved by hunger,
homelessness, poverty, human trafficking and other life controlling issues. They do this by providing hope,
empowerment and the love of Christ – both in word and deed.
Two amazing couples, Gary and Amanda Brougher of the Pittsburgh
Dream Center and David and Shirrie Dominquez of the Philly Dream
Center, have been called of God to reach the hurting people in their cities
using unique and practical outreach ministries. Women of Purpose often
raises funds to reach those in need from countries around the world, but
this year we decided to make the Dream Centers in the PennDel Network
our 2019 Project Offering for the Spring Tour because we also believe in
reaching the lost in our own backyard.

We salute the practical and creative approach the Dream Centers are
using to reach those who may never walk inside a church building to hear the gospel. The ideas and ministry opportunities they have
developed are ones that any church can use for their own community outreach. Prayerfully consider raising up volunteers whom God calls
to embrace one or more of the ministries listed below to reach the people of your community with love and a Jesus style compassion.
Adopt-A-Block: Volunteers select a block
in a neighborhood they adopt as their own.
Each week the group goes door-to-door
meeting the most basic needs residents may
have. Acts of service may include picking
up trash, mowing a lawn, planting flowers,
washing windows, painting a house exterior,
shoveling snow and so much more.
Mobile Food Bank: In desiring to continue
to make a greater and consistent impact to
those who are not able to receive sufficient
assistance or have barriers in getting aid
because of physical and transportation
issues, we launched a Mobile Food Bank
program where we take food to
neighborhoods on a weekly and monthly
basis.
Community Outreaches: Several
times a year we host a one-day
community or holiday outreach in various
neighborhoods partnering with other local
churches and organizations. We offer free
services and goods during this outreach.
Backpack of Hope: We fill backpacks
full of simple food to ensure children have
enough to eat over the weekend. We drop
off the backpacks Friday morning at a local
school, where the issue of hunger is great.
Chosen: A group of female volunteers
reach out to women in local strip clubs.
Our passion is to let these ladies know
they have purpose and value.
Midnight Call: We go downtown on
Sunday evening and minister to the
homeless, drug addicts and prostitutes by
taking food, blankets and other items.
Discipleship Program: A community
discipleship program should offer spiritual,
social and practical disciplines to help
wounded and hurting individuals get back
on their feet, and be restored to their
God-given potential.
Mobile Kids: A customized delivery
truck was converted into a portable
Kids’ Church. The truck is taken into
neighborhoods sharing fun, enriching
and exciting VBS type programming for
children.
