DEBATE OVER the name for the salt<br />
water pools is heating up – and so it should<br />
be (see page 1).<br />

Hot Pools or maybe something else?<br />
David East and Rebecca Tavete are<br />
angling towards Christchurch. They say it will give the pools<br />
more marketing depth as an attraction for out-of-towners. And<br />
there is much merit in that.<br />
Says Tavete: “It’s a celebration for Christchurch. We’re in New<br />
Brighton, they are always going to have New Brighton attached<br />
to them.”<br />
Others don’t like it at all and say the pools should reflect New<br />
Brighton – and there are some who don’t want either.<br />
Put it out to the public to have a big say in the final decision.<br />
