<strong>English</strong> and<br />
Translation Club<br />
Joining a university club is a great way to exercise your brain and body, learn new things, and practice your<br />
leadership skills. Therefore, the <strong>English</strong> department at Prince Sattam University founded several clubs, one of<br />
them is the <strong>English</strong> and Translation club. It was created to help students practice their <strong>English</strong> in a casual setting<br />
and spread awareness about languages and their history to all those who are interested. The club is managed by<br />
Ms. Sameena Bano, Ms Warda Wahaj unnisa ,Ms. Amani AlOtaibi and lead by Ms. Sarah AlGhanem and Norah<br />
Abdulhameed Alaskar was chosen to be a student coordinator and representative. The club has weekly meetings<br />
to discuss future activities. Some of these activities include offering Hindi language classes delivered by Ms.<br />
Sameena and Ms. Warda .<br />
Several corners to raise awareness for different causes such as, bullying, violence and the benefits of a healthy<br />
diet, in addition to celebrating world translation day and offering gifts in the form of free monthly subscriptions to<br />
Cambly. Furthermore, the <strong>English</strong> and Translation Club showed in the auditorium a movie translated by the club<br />
members for everyone to enjoy. Many students from different departments attended the movie and had an<br />
amazing time. Some treats and flowers were given during the screening of the movie and the event was a success<br />
thanks to Allah and then to the hard work and dedication of the club members. In addition to all the wonderful<br />
activities, the members had a chance to visit King Abdallah’s Center for Translation and Arabization, it was an<br />
informative and eye-opening experience. Moreover, the club organized a lecture by Mr. Rayan AlFadghi who<br />
spoke about Translation difficulties and how to become a legal translator or interpreter. The club is also very active<br />
on social media, with weekly speakers on snapchat and a newly founded initiative to enrich the Arabic content<br />
