The Inside Scoop from a current parent…
We initially chose Sandroyd due to its wide range
of facilities and being co-ed, we could have both
our children together. The remote country location
was very important to us as well. The school has
enhanced the children’s characteristics and they are
free to develop with careful guidance. Sandroyd has
fully met our hopes. Our children are learning, and
are happy, with a good group of contemporaries.
They have enthusiastic staff who engender a desire
to learn and a caring approach to boarding which
ensures everyone is noticed. Education is wide and
whilst aimed at the necessary exams, is deliberately
designed to broaden outlooks and introduce new
ideas. A school that pushes the children when
needed and protects them when required.
As parents, we love:
The unforced emphasis on academic challenge
at both ends of the spectrum.
The exceptional pastoral care and nuturing
environment for our children.
The approachability of all the staff from the
Headmaster down.
Our children love:
The incredible surrounds of Sandroyd within
Rushmore Park, it’s unbeatable.
The range of activities including sports, riding,
music, debating, Lego Club and learning.
The family atmosphere of the school.
HEADS UP
“We believe character skills are absolutely
key to a Sandroyd education and
ultimately these are the skills that allow
our children to be happy and succesful at
Senior School and life beyond.”
Alastair Speers, Headmaster
