LESSON 5: SUPPORT SYSTEM - RESPONSIBILITY EXERCISE
Imagine that you are with a friend. You’ve noticed that they seem to have something on their
mind that is clearly bothering them. Suddenly, after a long silence, they blurt out one of the
following statements.
For each of these statements, write how you feel about what they have said, what you would
say in response, and what you might do as a result.
1. "I hate my life."
How do you feel? What would you say? What would you do?
2. "I feel so bad. I don’t know whether to cry or scream!”
How do you feel? What would you say? What would you do?
3. "I've got nothing to live for."
How do you feel? What would you say? What would you do?
4. "I'm so tired all the time. I'd like to go to sleep forever."
How do you feel? What would you say? What would you do?
