Somerset and Plymouth amongst Early Years
Music Learning Communities.
What is The SoundWaves Network?
A Youth Music funded early childhood music
education programme incorporating a strong
element of training for the current and future
early childhood workforce in the South West.
The project is centred in Plymouth, Bristol
and Somerset, working with early childhood
settings, universities, advisory teams and Music
Education Hubs who have all invested and
committed to supporting and developing EY
music and provision.
Who does it impact?
The programme supports and engages the
South West's Early Years workforce and
everyone involved in the education of young
children through music.
Jane Parker, The SoundWaves Network Project
Leader, said, "We support the Early Years Music
educators and their conviction and belief in the
value of musical play; their knowledge of how
young children play musically and their early
childhood music pedagogical expertise.”
Sharing our partnership work is at the heart
of our ongoing reflective practice. We have
presented at an array of conferences, written
various articles and made a variety of films.
