<strong>Take</strong> <strong>Art</strong> International<br />
<strong>Take</strong> <strong>Art</strong> is a unique, life-changing organisation<br />
that doesn’t live in a venue, or studio or a<br />
whacking great theatre but in the villages,<br />
<strong>to</strong>wns and rural communities of Somerset, the<br />
wider UK and now the world.<br />
<strong>Take</strong> <strong>Art</strong> established one of the very first rural<br />
<strong>to</strong>uring agencies in the UK back in 1987 and<br />
has seen it develop, grow, contract and survive<br />
over the last 32 years.<br />
Now after three decades of taking art <strong>to</strong> where<br />
people need it in Somerset, <strong>Take</strong> <strong>Art</strong> finds itself<br />
in an extraordinary position, arms out across<br />
the water <strong>to</strong> our European cousins, with a tried<br />
and tested rural <strong>to</strong>uring model <strong>to</strong> offer a world<br />
increasingly hungry for new ways of presenting<br />
authentic arts experiences.<br />
There is also no denying the intrinsic social<br />
value of rural arts on local communities, a fac<strong>to</strong>r<br />
that has energised us <strong>to</strong> work with a number of<br />
European partners on the RIOTE2 and SPARSE<br />
projects, initiating new rural <strong>to</strong>uring networks<br />
across Europe.<br />
