LIBIS consultancy for Alma and Primo
For over 45 years LIBIS provides IT Solutions for the management and accessibility of library, archive and
museum collections of KU Leuven and a network of external partners. With a diverse team of around 22
people including consultants, web designers and software architects, it is our mission to offer open,
efficient, innovative and sustainable applications in dialogue with our partners.
Via consultancy we are able to share our experience and knowledge with you! LIBIS offers consultancy,
concerning Alma and Primo implementation, within the following areas:
Data processing
More than 40 years ago, LIBIS started LIBISnet, which evolved to
the largest network of scientific libraries in Belgium. During
these years, LIBIS migrated many libraries to the LIBISnet
Network. Processing data is our core business and we could
offer consultancy in ‘preparing’ data that needs to be migrated
to Alma.
Project Management
LIBIS was one of the four development partners for Alma and
LIBISnet was the first European consortium to go live with Alma
and Primo. We managed to go live with 30 institutions and
about 100 libraries in 2 cohorts during the summer of 2014.
Based upon these experiences we could offer consultancy in
supporting the project management of migration projects to
Alma and/or Primo.
Training
Configuration & Development
LIBIS provides monthly training sessions for new LIBISnet staff
users. During the migration of LIBISnet to Alma, we organized
functional training sessions for about 450 staff users. LIBIS is
able to prepare staff users to be ready to go live with Alma and
Primo. Technical training or consultancy concerning Alma and
Primo API’s is possible.
As a service provider, we are the ‘system administrator’ for
about 30 Alma institutions and even more Primo views. As a
development partner, we were involved in the very first Alma
releases and very familiar with the Alma setup. During the
migration and implementation phase of Alma and Primo, we
can advise or provide guidance on system setup based on your
needs. LIBIS can also help with custom Primo developments
and any kind of 3th party integration with Alma or Primo.
