Thousands of young athletes compete<br />

MORE THAN 2700 year 7 and 8<br />
students took part in the annual<br />
three-day Koru Games across the<br />
district last week.<br />
The event, which was in its<br />
fifth year, attracted students from<br />
56 South Island schools. They<br />
took part in 15 sports at Lincoln<br />
University, Lincoln, Prebbleton<br />
and Rolleston.<br />
Eight schools were participating<br />
for the first time. They were<br />
Ararira Springs, Cheviot Area,<br />
Mayfield, Mt Somers Springburn,<br />
Te Waka Unua,<br />
Sefton and Ohoka<br />
schools, as well as<br />
Linwood College.<br />
