Enugu butchers resolve
3-year-rift, hold election

Association, Ogbete Main
Market Branch, has
overcome three years
imbroglio that paralysed
the group and yesterday,
conducted election for its
executive members.
Crisis had hit the union,
following the expiration of
tenure of its former
executive members. This
had stopped it from
electing a new set of
leaders.
However, an Enugu
magistrate court, presided
over by F. U. Eze, on
August 19, ordered
conduct of an election,
using a previous electoral
committee headed by Mr.
Chigbo Nnamani.
After the conduct of the
election in Enugu
yesterday, Mr. Elijah Ede
emerged chairman of the
association, while Mr.
Osita Ike became
Secretary.
Ede pledged to reunite
the group, noting that his
election was a clarion call
to serve the association.

Butchers Association.
“I believe that this
election will reunite all
the butchers in Ogbete
Market, because when
the righteous is on the
throne, people will
rejoice. This is the word
of God and in everything

God first.”

electoral committee, Mr.
Chigbo Nnamani, said
the election was a job
well done and a
welcome development
given the years of
litigation over the matter.

Owerri withdraws citizenship
