FOUNDED CEO ADVISORY COUNCIL
A particularly significant and rewarding point of progress is the strong participation of senior industry executives in our
new CEO Advisory Council.
The data make it clear that CEO engagement is a critical first step to accelerating women’s advancement. On the heels
of our successful launch at the 2018 Annual Leadership Development Conference of our Lead the Way gender equity
initiative, it was clear Food Industry CEOs and senior leaders got it. They were all in and ready to lead on gender equity.
WFF’s CEO Advisory Council engages some of the most influential senior executives across the industry to provide
critical input, share their public commitment and leverage their influence to accelerate women’s advancement. The
Council serves as a “think tank” to guide our consideration of new products and services to support Partner companies
on their gender equity journeys.
The Council is co-chaired by Sysco Corporation CEO Tom Bené and McLane Foodservice Inc.’s SVP for Sales & Strategic
Relationships and 2018 WFF Board Chair, Susan Adzick. They meet throughout the year to identify the most pressing
issues facing the Food Industry around gender equity and to collaborate with WFF to address them.
LAUNCHED BOLD
STRATEGY
We launched 2018 with an exceptional strategic plan
that included, for the first time, a three-year operating
plan and budget. The 2018-2020 Aspirational Strategy
calls on WFF to act more boldly to expand our impact
on the industry, building on nearly three decades
primarily focused on developing women leaders to
Lead the Way to women’s workplace advancement
and gender equity across the Food Industry.
A critical first step in this process has been deep
engagement of CEOs around gender equity and
gaining their commitment to close the gender gap
in the Food Industry.
