At the edge of the nature park Medvednica, an area where one can live in leisure and breathe clean air, on a plot of a total area of approx. 18,300 sq m, with a natural water source and watercourse, an innovative architectural project, ZELENI DVORI, has been developed. Projektantski imperativ je osmisliti atraktivan ambijent ugodan za život u kojemu se može imati svoj mir,
biti aktivan i vitalan, brinuti se o zdravlju, a sve uz ekonomsku i ekološku održivost. U zadanom prostoru
koncipirana je organizacija i osmišljeni sadržaji koji udovoljavaju potrebama ugodnog življenja, i pri useljenju
i u budućnosti. A kvaliteta stanovanja i življenja u nekom prostoru ne ovisi samo o stambenom prostoru
nego i o sadržajima šireg prostora u kojemu je smješten sam stambeni prostor. Ambijent i prostor u kojemu
se živi i/ili radi ne smiju se promatrati samo kao mjesto korištenja nego i mjesto življenja, a kvaliteta življenja
mjeri se visinom zadovoljavanja životnih potreba stanara ili korisnika.
Prema tome, imalo se na umu da vrijednost zgrade i kuća ne proizlazi iz njih samih, već i iz sadržaja
prostora u kojemu su smješteni te iz zadovoljstva koje pružaju životu. Zato se osmišljavanje i koncipiranje
uvjeta življenja protegnulo i na površine okoliša usmjeravajući se na kvalitetu života odnosno zadovoljavanje
potreba stanara i korisnika. Budući da je čovjek bogat potrebama, nastojalo se proniknuti u potrebe stanara
i korisnika, a poznato je da su one promjenjive, odnosno dinamične.

A planning imperative is to design an attractive environment in which it is pleasant to live, in which residents can enjoy their tranquillity and lead an
active and healthy lifestyle, all in line with the principles of economic and environmental sustainability. The layout and features of the space were
designed to provide everything that is necessary for comfortable living, both when moving in and in the future. The quality of residing and living in a
locality does not only depend on the residential space, but also on the amenities available in the wider area in which the residential space is situated.
The residential and/or work environment must be perceived as more than just a space that is utilised – it is a space for living whose quality must be
measured by the level to which the needs of residents and users have been met.
Therefore, it was borne in mind that the value of a building or a house is derived not only from the structure itself, but also from the features of the
space in which it is situated and from the satisfaction it gives. Designing the living conditions therefore also extended to the external environment, with
the aim of providing quality of life and meeting the needs of residents and users. Since man has an abundance of needs, we strived to gain insight
into the needs of residents and users, though it is known that such needs are changeable and dynamic.
