THREE Chinese nationals
have been detained after
Guardia Civil officers discovered
a million euros in
used €50 notes in their
luggage.

Community have
made the list of Spain’s
15 most dangerous, as released
by the Linea Directa
Foundation this week.

Under Eurozone wide
regulations, you are not allowed
to enter or leave the
EU with €10,000 or more in
cash unless you first declare
it to customs.
Two of them are in Valencia
City, Blasco Ibanez and
El Cid, both busy avenues.
The other is Alicante
City’s Denia de Alicante, also
an avenue.
The convergence of pedestrians
and vehicles on
these types of roads is the
main reason for the figures
which count serious injuries
and fatalities for all
road users including those
on foot.
Last year countrywide
there were twice as many
road accidents in urban
settings as on interurban
and rural roads, with 2,360
traffic deaths in towns and
cities.
This was 13% higher than
2017 and almost half the
victims were pedestrians.
The most common urban
accident is a rear-end or
side on shunt between cars,
usually at traffic lights and
roundabouts.
These rarely cause serious
injury or death as the vehicle’s
body protects victims
and speeds are usually low.
However back sprains,
knee sprains and herniated
discs are all common minor
injuries.
