What does leadership mean to you?
I believe that being put in a position of leadership is a privilege. I consider it to be
an honor to share my experiences, successes and failures in order to help another
on their personal journey.
How do you feel you positively impact the pet industry?
I’m bringing a safer grooming option to our industry. By infusing my certified organic
products with spa like relaxation botanicals and oils, our hope is to aid in helping
manage stress and anxiety issues for our beloved dogs as well as their humans…
Are you a dog or a cat person? And how do you think that helps you in business?
I am an “ALL” animal supporter. Growing up the grand daughter of a zoo director, I
had access to many different animals at an early age. Yet my passion for dogs (one in
particular) has fueled my desire to build my company. My sweet little Yorkie Toby
passed over the rainbow bridge a few weeks ago but will always remain the face of
my company and hold a huge piece of my heart.
Who is your favorite business expert?
Indra Nooyi. She strives to truly understand people and leads with that in mind.
What do you think is the most interesting trend in the pet business?
That our beloved pets are finally being acknowledged as family members!!!
What is your leadership improvement plan?
Continuously learning and Mentoring others.
What do you look for most in a teammate?
Honesty, Empathy and Passion
How did a pet influence your business?
My little Toby (yorkie) was 100% the catalyst for my creating and launching my company. Even though I lost him
about a month ago, he will always remain the face of and the driving force behind Balance Organically!
What do you love most about your business?
The people I work with and come into contact with! Pet people are the
most compassionate, and I believe passionate, humans on the planet!!
What trait do you possess that serves you best in business?
I lead by example. I would never expect someone to do
something that I myself was not willing to do or
learn to do if necessary.
