Leaders should always inspirethose around them to be their best.How do you feel you positivelyimpact the pet industry?I am a problem solver. I continuallysee issues and come up with solutions.I have been able to bring two ofmy solutions to life. My "CanineEmergency Response Button" and myTraining, Daycare and Boarding facility.My next project will be to start anaccredited dog training school.Are you a dog or a cat person? Andhow do you think this helps you inbusiness?I love both my cats and dogs. Icommunicate with both of them. Dogshowever are easier to talk to becausethey are more straight forward andhave a simpler way of thinking.What do you wish pet lovers knewabout what you do?People think our job is easy becausewe get to play with dogs all day. Whatthey don't understand is that there is farmore to it than that. We deal with a lotof paperwork and are adept at reading"dog body language". We have to makesure the dogs all get along and we haveto keep fights from breaking out. Wewant the clients and staff happy! SoWe also continually come up with newand innovative ideas so the dogs donot get bored with coming to daycareand class. All this assures happy andrepeat customers and happy pets!Who is your favorite business expert?I really like Ian Dunbar for his candor.What do you think is the most interestingtrend in the pet business?I love the fact that people arelearning about CBD and the use of itfor their pets. I am going to be offeringclasses to help educate pet parents onCBD in the future.What is your leadership improvementplan?My plan is to continue to attendseminars, both in person and online.It is important to continue to learn andstay on top of technology.What do you look for most in ateammate?I look for individuals who activelywant to learn and expand theirknowledge. The best team membersare those who are willing to trulyparticipate and are self directed tobetter themselves and our business.How did a pet influence your business?My first Service Dog directed me tothis path. I never would have started"Dogs for Invisible Disabilities," "MyLittle Dog Training Business" or"My Little Dog Training Academy &Daycare" without him.How important is social media toyour business? What is your favplatform, Or do you have one?We rely on social media to spread theword.
