This week we have also been working on a really special project in fact it's been a
few months in the making, it was to organise and deliver a poppy display. The
display was to be hung with others in Darlaston along the Remembrance Day
parade route. I personally took the lead to annoy all our supporters, volunteers
and friends and family to donate handmade poppies in order to make the clubs
display. Last Sunday club stalwart Gilbert Preece and first team manager Andy
Parkes accompanied by Emma his wife, along with yours truly went to hang the
finished article outside Darlaston Town Hall ahead of the parade. The club have
already posted pictures and an article about this, but the display to me signalled
lots of people coming together to remember those who fought for our freedom. To
me Remembrance Day is so important. Generations should be aware and continue
to respect those who gave the biggest of sacrifices for us and to see everyone
come together and donate in the numbers they did meant we were able to
produce a display I was so very proud of.
