and thought he had netted the Shawbury winner putting them in front on 92
minutes. Unbelievably Sporting went straight up the pitch to grab a dramatic
93rd equaliser through Tai Reece Amari.
Midweek fixtures saw AFC Bridgnorth and Shifnal Town progress in the League
Cup with victories over Wednesfield and Dudley Sports respectively. Bridgnorth
edged home 2-1 against Wednesfield, Anwar Ologbun getting both goals for the
home side. Shifnal were again on the rampage with a 7-0 win against Sports,
Tom Hill netted 4, Ben Novis 2 and Sam McCarthy rounded off the scorers.
Just one Premier Division game beat the weather on Saturday at Queen Street,
Bilston where Shifnal extended their winning streak to 12 league games
extending their lead at the top of the table to 12 points although second placed
Bewdley Town have 2 games in hand. Shifnal beat Bilston 6-4 after leading 6-1
before 3 late goals gave the scoreline an air of respectability.
In Division One a Tom Fallon hat trick was the high point in sending Allscott to
the top of the table demoting Wellington Amateurs to second spot after beating
“Ams” 5-4. Louis Jones and an own goal completed the scoring for Allscott. In
the top of the table clash in Division Two AFC Bentley leap frogged Coven
Athletic to go top after coming from 3-1 behind to win 4-3. Liam Hughes netted
all four Bentley goals.
