Around the LeagueSince our last league game the weather has taken its toll and the last twoSaturday fixtures has seen numerous games wiped out.On Saturday 19 October Shifnal Town made it ten league wins on the trot with a5-1 home win against early season promotion favourites Wolves Sporting. AKyle Montague hat trick was at the heart of the win with Tom Hill and substituteBen Novis also on target. Jake Healy netted Sporting’s consolation goal.Bewdley fell to their second defeat of the season at the Aspray Arena the homeof Dudley Town. Dan Jones and Lewis Archer put the Robins 2 goals aheadbefore a brace from Luke Morris brought Bewdley level. Lewis Taylor Boycenetted the winner for Dudley. Both sides finished the game with 10 men withJason Hewitt for Dudley and Bewdley keeper Joe Sideway given their marchingorders on 85 minutes. The win saw Dudley rise to fourth in the League table.Littleton and AFC Bridgnorth fought out a 2-2 draw. Dean Fisher with a bracefor the home side, Matthew Dean and Elliott Lee on target for Bridgnorth.Wednesfield were surprise 2-1 winners at Pershore Town. James Baldwin gaveTown the lead on the stroke of half time but 2 goals in the final 10 minutes fromWill Osborne and substitute Zac Campbell Jackson saw Wednesfield return withall 3 points. In his first game at the helm new Bilston boss Wayne Spicer saw hischarges return from Shawbury United with a 1-0 win. Substitute Ryan SappletonWilliams with the only goal of the game.Just four Premier Division games beat the weather on Saturday 2 November withShifnal Town extending their winning streak to 11 league games with a 5-0home win against AFC Bridgnorth. The Division’s leading scorer Tom Hill helpedhimself to a hat trick with Kyle Montague and Craig Radford also finding the net.Bilston Town travelled to Worcestershire and returned home with a 3-0 win atPershore Town. Kevin Nickle with a brace and former Darlaston striker Sam Meliawere on the scoresheet.Managerless Black Country Rangers won 3-2 away at Littleton. Ben Billinghamand Adam Garmston were on target for the home side but goals from DannyMeek, Jarad Daniels and Kayelden Brown secured the points for Rangers. CallumBriscoe opened the scoring for Wem Town, but a late own goal securedWolverhampton Sporting a point in a 1-1 draw.In the only midweek league game Wolves Sporting went ahead with24
former Darlaston midfielder Isaac Cooper opening the scoring on 8 minutesagainst Shawbury United. Debutant George Burslem equalised on 30 minutesand thought he had netted the Shawbury winner putting them in front on 92minutes. Unbelievably Sporting went straight up the pitch to grab a dramatic93rd equaliser through Tai Reece Amari.Midweek fixtures saw AFC Bridgnorth and Shifnal Town progress in the LeagueCup with victories over Wednesfield and Dudley Sports respectively. Bridgnorthedged home 2-1 against Wednesfield, Anwar Ologbun getting both goals for thehome side. Shifnal were again on the rampage with a 7-0 win against Sports,Tom Hill netted 4, Ben Novis 2 and Sam McCarthy rounded off the scorers.Just one Premier Division game beat the weather on Saturday at Queen Street,Bilston where Shifnal extended their winning streak to 12 league gamesextending their lead at the top of the table to 12 points although second placedBewdley Town have 2 games in hand. Shifnal beat Bilston 6-4 after leading 6-1before 3 late goals gave the scoreline an air of respectability.In Division One a Tom Fallon hat trick was the high point in sending Allscott tothe top of the table demoting Wellington Amateurs to second spot after beating“Ams” 5-4. Louis Jones and an own goal completed the scoring for Allscott. Inthe top of the table clash in Division Two AFC Bentley leap frogged CovenAthletic to go top after coming from 3-1 behind to win 4-3.
