vineyards – peers down from its height of 789 metres, while sun-soaked Maronti Beach stretches

in the Castello Aragonese, a fortified castle set on its own islet. Soak up the sun on the olive tree
terrace, glimpse 14th century frescoes in a preserved crypt and wander amongst the ruins of a
cathedral.
Then, of course, there are the hot springs, the island's most sought-after feature, and the ideal
way to pamper tired legs. The benefits of hot spas and mineral baths have been celebrated since
Roman times. The mixture of warm and cold therapies is known to help with circulation and
metabolism, as well as soothing muscular aches and pains. Start your journey of relaxation at the
natural hot springs of Sorgeto, Poseidon or Negombo. All feature a number of pools with varying
temperatures – some even as warm as 40 degrees. Poseidon offers an impressive
total of 22 pools. Nestled like a jewel in the curved bay of Citara, you can
reap the therapeutic benefits of the sulphur-rich water and volcanic mud
while enjoying a view of the shimmering azure water on the horizon.
