With over 200 galleries and exhibits, the National
Coast Guard Museum will bring to life centuries
of devotion and sacrifice and will highlight the
innovative technologies developed with industry
partners. The Museum will be built in New London,
CT per Congressional mandate and will engage,
educate and inspire visitors by honoring the
courage and skill of our nation’s unsung armed
service. The Museum will explore the Coast Guard’s
rich history and current impact through interactive
exhibits, STEM-based learning experiences, and
leadership development programming.
The Museum will help American citizens and
other visitors understand the U.S. Coast Guard
you know so well. The exhibits will showcase
the incredible legacy of heroism, bravery, and
professional competence demonstrated by this
multi-missioned service because the extraordinary
work of the Coast Guard deserves to be preserved,
memorialized and honored.

IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES will bring to life the
stories and missions of the Coast Guard and its
remarkable history dedicated to security, safety
and stewardship explored through five story lines:
• Defenders of our Nation
• Enforcers on the Seas

• Protectors of the Environment

significance, history, culture, heroism and values of
