DANCE DISCOVER YOUR INNER DANCER! SIGN UP TODAY! YMCA dance classes teach balance, flexibility and most of all, confidence. The Oscar Lasko YMCA and Childcare Center offers a wide variety of dance classes including ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. Dance classes are offered throughout the year, but the majority are offered during the school year. Classes are open to students of any ability from ages two to adult. Many of our classes offer the option to participate in dance recitals. Zumba, belly dancing, line dancing and other adult exercise classes are included with YMCA membership. Dance / Arts and Learning Ballet 1 Saturday Y member rate: $45/month Y non-member rate: $90/month While working to achieve the strict technique of ballet, students will also learn ballet terminology, movements, and the five arm/feet positions. Students will start each class at the barre doing exercises to achieve ballet technique. Then we will move onto working on ballet combinations in the center and across the floor. The class will also work on flexibility, as well as strength. Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers required. A holiday and spring recital will be held. Information on recitals and costume fees will be emailed to parents. Monthly payment plan is available.
