Who we are<br />
Allied Press Limited employs over 450 people on a permanent<br />
basis across its 15 sites in the South Island. We operate across<br />
multiple media platforms (print, online, digital) delivering news,<br />
information and entertainment through our various regional<br />
and city publications, including printing and publishing of<br />
newspapers from our print centre in Dunedin and a commercial<br />
print facility in Alexandra.<br />
<strong>The</strong> role<br />
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the main purpose of<br />
the position is to ensure smooth running of our newspaper,<br />
commercial publication and facility maintenance.<br />
Some of the key accountabilities include:<br />
• Production remains uninterrupted.<br />
• Production equipment availability is maximised.<br />
• Preventative maintenance is prioritised to ensure minimal<br />
downtime.<br />
<strong>The</strong> business has just invested in a major upgrade to the<br />
electrical/electronic systems on the printing press, scheduled to<br />
commence in the New Year. This presents the ideal opportunity<br />
to learn from the installation and commissioning engineers to<br />
enable the successful candidate to hit the ground running.<br />
Your skills and experience<br />
We are looking for a registered Electrician ideally from an<br />
Industrial background holding a current practising licence. <strong>The</strong><br />
ideal candidate would be competent and confident in using<br />
computers and experienced in PLC’s, Analogue/Digital control<br />
and AC/DC motor drive systems. Although not essential,<br />
knowledge of Goss Press and Ferag mailroom will be a bonus.<br />

This is a full-time permanent position working the day shift from<br />
Monday to Friday, with rostered ‘On call’.<br />
