Its Vancouver transplant, the JFLNorthWest Comedy Festival, continues tocarry the touch forward with its fifth annualedition, featuring an impressive lineup thatincludes world-renowned and up-andcomingcomedians performing stand-up,sketch, and improv.Among the festival’s biggest headlinersare Saturday Night Live alum JayPharaoh, trailblazing Korean Americancomedian Margaret Cho, and MariaBamford, best known for her hilariousand candid approach to mental health.Podcasters Todd Barry and Off Book:The Improvised Musical Podcast will beon-site, too, hosting their shows live.One of the most exciting componentsof JFLNW, though, is its strong emphasison homegrown talent. Their Best of theWest series presents a fantastic crosssectionof B.C.-based performers, likeLittle Mountain Improv, Graham Clark’sQuiz Show, and Hip.Bang!. There willalso be a special short film showcase,Comedy Short Shorts, that celebratesthe work of Pacific Northwestmoviemakers.
