Atanother recent avant garde show, at ILove You Coffee Shop, he performedhis first piece live body art inspired byViennese Actionism.“I think of myself more as anintellectual or a scientist, so what I createdepends how I’m feeling,” he says.Not content with merely lookinginwards to create, Louis CZA the BlackGreek God has also made it his missionto give a helping hand to other risingyouth artists in Calgary, mentoring themand developing spaces with like-mindedfriends to encourage new expressionand development.“It’s always been about trying topush forward in the scene,” he says. “Iwork with a lot of young people in thecommunity because a lot of the olderpeople are more stuck in their ways. I tryto create new avenues for young peopleto get in there.“When we started, we didn’t havea lot of people showing us what to door how to do it. I feel like if we did, wewould have progressed a lot faster.So, we’re very young at heart, youngpeople, we’re always energetic andstoked on creativity. Eventually we wantto have a centre in the future, in 10 or20 years, where young people cango too.
