The ups and downs of life are hard for all of us. Navigating your path as a young person
can be especially difficult. Learning skills to guide you is critical. Founded by Ryan
Hesslau in 2012, ForeverU is a not for profit youth development organization that
empowers youth student to overcome adversity by offering personal development
programs that equip them to face life's greatest challenges and obstacles.
Whether you are a student, an educator, mental health professional, or a parent,
ForeverU offers programs, initiatives, and experiences that allow you to be part of their
efforts in helping youth find their place in the world. ForeverU primarily specializes in
personal development retreats and camps offered to 7-12 grade students.
ForeverU's weekend retreats help youth experiencing an emotional or situational form of
adversity understand the value in who they are and the story they're living. Students who
participate in this weekend retreat will also be empowered with the life skills they need to
establish a road map for where they hope to go in life.
The retreat consists of powerful morning and evening sessions with guest speakers, group
discussions, self-care workshops, and other interactive activities that give students a
refreshed understanding of the greatness within them. At the conclusion of the retreat,
participants become official ForeverU Members and unlock access to our summer camp
offered every July. ForeverU's annual summer camp introduces participants to a higher
level of personal development practices that prepare them for different seasons of life.
In 2020, ForeverU will be opening in a facility at in New Lenox, IL with the purpose of
offering an after-school drop-in center for ForeverU students and providing parents,
educators, and community members with a central location to become educated on
youth behavioral health and wellness.
The programs at ForeverU are based on four pillars: emotional intelligence, character
development, personal achievement and self-esteem. The objective of their programs is
to help students better manage their thoughts and emotions through practices built on
mindfulness and self-awareness, while also helping students develop a growth mindset
that leads to a life of resilience, confidence, and positive decision making.
