The Rose of Lakeview
The Rose of Lakeview is our treatment program for
women dealing with addiction and potential
co-occurring disorders. Our women’s facility provides
all levels of care from medically monitored detox and
inpatient residential to intensive outpatient programs.
All treatment takes place on campus.
THE CLINICAL PROGRAM
The Rose clinical program features the Women’s Integrated Treatment
(WIT) model developed by Dr. Stephanie Covington. This approach
responds to the cultural, addiction, and trauma issues that often arise
for women in treatment. Our masters-level, licensed clinicians are
trained in both addiction and mental health disorders. Our integrative
health approach incorporates the body, mind, and spirit, featuring small
therapeutic groups with an average ratio of 10:1.
TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE
We know treating trauma is essential to helping women recover. Studies
indicate that 70 to 90 percent of women in addiction treatment have
experienced at least one significant traumatic event in their past. Because
trauma is often a root component of women’s substance use, we begin to
address it during treatment in a safe, gender-responsive facility.
The staff is trained in trauma-informed care. This includes a trauma
assessment, grounding skills, group and individual process, Eye
Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (if appropriate), art and
music therapy, assignments, and referrals for post-treatment care.
Since some patients may not be ready for trauma work at Lakeview,
we assess each individually.
A SAFE AND NURTURING SPACE
The Rose of Lakeview is designed so that the space itself contributes to the
recovery process. Our accommodations will not be mistaken for hospital
rooms. Instead, they have the warm atmosphere of a cozy apartment.
Each semiprivate room is spacious, offering a home-like environment
with beautiful bedding, a desk, wardrobes, and even individual boards
where personal affects can be displayed. The rooms are close to attending
doctors, nurses, and clinical therapists 24 hours a day.
