WORDS OF WISDOM
I love these words from St. Paul to the Ephesians: “Glory to God whose power
now at work in us can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory be
to him in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.
Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)
Graduates, congratulations to you! I can only hope you realize how very proud
we are of you! When you were a little baby boy or little baby girl, your parents
brought you to church to be baptized. They made a very solemn promise that
day, a promise to the Lord and to you, that they would do their best, with
God’s grace, to make sure that you were raised to be a mature, responsible
Christian adult. I’m delighted that Holy Infant School was entrusted with the
privilege of being a part of your formation!
The best advice I could offer you is to continue to foster that all-important
friendship with Jesus, our best friend. Spend a little time each day in
conversation with him. We know that friendship shrivels up without constant
communication. Talk to your friend, Jesus. Listen to him daily in prayer. Never
miss the chance to be with our best friend as often as possible, especially
Sunday Mass. And always, always embrace the radical teaching of Jesus to
“love one another.”
