What is SUMMER SESSIONS<br />

and How Can It Beneft You?<br />

Through <strong>CSUDH</strong> College of Extended & International Education, adults<br />

capable of college-level work may enroll in regular <strong>CSUDH</strong> courses each<br />

semester on a space-available basis. There is no formal admission to the<br />

University and registration is made easy—you can usually confrm your<br />

space in class at the frst meeting. Each department may regulate<br />

admission to specifc classes, but many choices are available.<br />

Open University gives you the freedom to<br />

• Sample a particular feld before enrolling in a degree program<br />

• Take courses for professional or personal development<br />

• Improve your grade point average if you have been turned down for<br />

admission by the university or have been academically disqualifed.<br />

• Get a start on your degree if you missed the application deadline<br />

Through the Open University program, you can receive credit for your<br />

completed course work in any of the lower division, upper division, or<br />

graduate courses available to you. The credit you earn can be applied<br />

towards a degree within the limits described in the Academic Eligibility<br />

and Credit Information section (page 72).<br />

A materials fee is charged for some<br />

classes. The classes are indicated and<br />

An additional fee is also charged for<br />

<strong>Summer</strong> <strong>Sessions</strong> courses taken over<br />

television ($30.00 per unit).<br />

Refunds<br />

<strong>Summer</strong> Session 1 and Regular<br />

<strong>Summer</strong> Session:<br />

If a student drops a class on or before<br />

May 25, 100% of the fees will be<br />

refunded (less $10 processing fee).<br />

After May 25, until June 1, 75% of<br />

the fees will be refunded. From June<br />

2 to June 8, 50% of the fees will be<br />

refunded. After June 8, no refund will<br />

be made.<br />
