As gyms and health facilities around
the world are slowly beginning to
open their doors, I sit here writing
this wondering, will your approach
to your own health have changed?
Over the last few weeks we’ve been graced
with SO many free home workouts and
different ways to keep the pounds off and our
activity high.
Which way will you move forward?
Did you try something new recently?
Here are a few ways some of us have
managed to keep fit and well and our mental
health focused;
YouTube:
• Home workouts
• Yoga
• Animal Flow (this was a new one for me too)
• Calisthenics (body weight training)
Online Coaching
It’s been amazing to see so many people
focus on their health. Maybe an increased
awareness of the importance of a healthy,
active body and a focused, clear mind has
allowed so many of us to have such positive
journeys over the past few months.
If you haven’t tried any of the listed
recommendations, or you have but want to
explore others…. GO FOR IT!
Make life as rich and full as possible.
Here are a few simple rules to keep in mind
when choosing to make a positive health
change.
To lose body fat you need to create a daily
deficit (intake of calories) by 300-500 calories
per day. 500 per day over a week is 3500
calories and that’s what it takes to burn 1lb of
body fat.
To gain some muscle is a surplus of 200-500
calories per day and expect to gain a little
body fat to, don’t believe the myths of you
can have it all. For most, 99% of us have to
choose a focus. The more muscle you have
the faster you’ll burn body fat…tip of the trade
right there.
Next, you can eat how you wish…but know
the more processed food we consume the
harder we make it for our body to process.
You’ll find greater volumes of food in
wholesome form. So, fill that plate up with the
good stuff as often as possible to help keep
calories low and food volume high.
Lastly, ENJOY what you do. Being healthy
should be a benefit to life, not a drain and
chore so find a way to exercise that fits your
lifestyle.
