CHAMBER FOCUS | <strong>2020</strong> COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT AWARDS<br />
The Valpo Chamber and the City of Valparaiso have<br />
recognized 10 local businesses and organizations for their<br />
commitment and investment in Valparaiso by awarding<br />
them with a 53rd Annual Community Improvement Award. A<br />
luncheon, sponsored by presenting sponsors Porter Regional<br />
Hospital and NITCO; featured sponsors 1st Source Bank,<br />
Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa, CLH CPAs and Consultants,<br />
St. Mary Medical Center, and Teachers Credit Union will be<br />
held on Thursday, August 6. The event will be held at the<br />
Porter County Expo Center to honor the recipients and their<br />
projects that improve our city.<br />
Community Improvement Awards are based on the visual impact<br />
of exterior appearance and are judged on the following criteria:<br />
Enhances the attractiveness of Valparaiso; Compatible with the<br />
area and environment; Makes a commitment to Valparaiso’s<br />
future; Shows creativity/innovation in both design and use of<br />
materials; Enhances the quality of life and promotes pride in<br />
Valparaiso. These projects join the more than 350 properties that<br />
have been recognized since the awards program began in 1967.<br />
