After 20 years, the chamber’s building has a new name
and an updated look, but its function serving Valparaiso
businesses is stronger than ever.

team greeted hundreds of
members of the community
gathered outside the offices
of the Chamber for the
building’s rededication ceremony.
Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, visiting
from Indianapolis, spoke of the strength
of the Valparaiso business community
while hundreds of business and community
members toured the freshly renovated
and newly renamed Free Enterprise
Center. Valpo Velvet ice cream awaited
attendees at the end of their tour through
the updated facility.

The “Free Enterprise Center”
“We decided to come up with the name Free
Enterprise Center because a lot of people
do not understand that the Chamber is not
a government entity. We are a 501(c)(6) not
for profit organization, but predominantly
we're a trade association for businesses,”
said Richards.
Richards notes that the new name for
the building, previously the Valparaiso
Commerce Center, is a better fit for the
Chamber’s vision to serve the needs of the
business community. “85% of our members
are small businesses, so this name Free
Enterprise Center really personifies who we
represent, as the American free enterprise
system is one of the main tenets of the
United States’ system of commerce.”
The Chamber purchased the building
in 2002 from the Valparaiso lodge of
the Independent Order of Odd Fellows,
remodeling the ground floor space into the
open concept office space that visitors have
become accustomed to over the years.
The first renovation served the organization
well for 20 years. But as the chamber
completed its final mortgage payment
in 2022, it created an opportunity for
the organization to invest in the future in
the building they intend to call home for
a long time.
An Office Layout That’s
Better for Business
Looking beyond the fresh paint on the
walls, the primary change that visitors to the
updated Chamber offices will notice is the

>> cubicles that figured prominently in
many of the Chamber’s videos over the
years. Implemented by many offices over
the past 10-20 years with the intention of
improving collaboration, some open office
layouts are now being reconfigured to offer
a little more privacy.
Replacing the open cubicles are a glassedin
conference room and a private office
for the organization’s CFO, while most of
the other staff members now have private
offices along the building’s east wall.
“We deal with a lot of businesses that are
thinking of expanding and growing, and we
have meetings in here, so you have to kind
of have some confidentiality. And so, by
moving most of the employees into private
offices, it makes it better for business,”
said Richards.
A Space Designed to Serve
Businesses of All Sizes
In addition to the offices of the Chamber,
the Free Enterprise Center also serves
as home to Valparaiso small businesses
Directions Wealth Management and GGNet
Technologies. The Chamber itself also
maintains some flexible office space for
use by Chamber members. “We have a
lot of members that are from out of town,
from Lake County, from La Porte County. If
they're over here doing business, and if it's
winter, it's raining and they need a place

to operate for a couple hours, we've got
some space that we make available to our
members,” said Richards.
The upper level of the Free Enterprise
Center was renovated in 2013 to create
a conference center space, featuring one
large and several smaller meeting rooms.
“A lot of our members do not have space
where they can have conferences. This
conference space makes our building that
much more available to our members,” said
Richards. “We get tremendous usage of our
second level now.” The Independent Order
of Odd Fellows also continues to hold
meetings in the upstairs conference center.
A Prominent Place in the
Business Community’s Past,
Present and Future
Clocking in at 12,000 square feet, the
building itself has housed a wide variety
of businesses over the years. Built circa
1875, the building originally housed the
Grand Opera House, a venue for theatrical,
musical, and vaudeville performances.
After the 1891 opening and subsequent
popularity of the G. A. R. Memorial Opera
house forced the closure of the Grand
Opera House, the building housed a dry
goods business and then the Grand Opera
One-Price Clothing Store, the precursor to
Lowenstine’s Department Store. Over the
years, the building also housed a furniture
and undertaking business as well as Sears,
Roebuck and Co.
Today, the Free Enterprise Center occupies
a prime location along downtown
Valparaiso’s Lincolnway, right next to City
Hall and just steps from Central Park Plaza,
the Urschel Pavilion and a wide range of
restaurants and other small businesses that
the Chamber is proud to represent.
“We Wanted to be Where the
Action Is”
The city’s investments in a lively and robust
downtown over the past 20 years helped to
make the Chamber’s decision to invest in
the future at their current location an
easy one.
“I think what you have seen over the last
20 years in the downtown alone, with the
Urschel Pavilion, with the new Central Park
that we have, the band shell, everything that
the city’s done over the last 20 years has
been to strengthen and continue to improve
the downtown,” said Richards.
“This is a major investment in our
community, and I think that this
investment in the Chamber building shows
that the business community believes in
making a contribution of its own to the city
that creates so many opportunities
for businesses.”

Each Valpo Chamber staff member plays an active role in making Valparaiso a place where businesses “

businesses are booming in
downtown Valparaiso. But that’s
not how a business starts. Usually
it starts with an idea, an empty
room, and a hunger for success.
“It’s difficult to grow your business on your
own,” said Brie Zacharias, Vice President of
Sales and Marketing. That’s why the Valpo
Chamber, selected as the Best Chamber in
Indiana three times in a row and the second-
Best Chamber in America in 2018, provides
opportunities, support, and a dedicated,
passionate team to help businesses grow.
Fostering Connections and
Building Relationships
“I think the most important thing in
business is building those relationships
and having those partners you can go to,”
said Stephanie Edwards, Vice President of
Programs and Communications.

A major feature of a Valpo Chamber
membership is its events, from the heavily
anticipated Chamber Network Night to the
luncheons, breakfasts, and ribbon cuttings.
These events help facilitate conversations
between new members and build closer
relationships between existing members.
With a large, varied number of events,
businesses can find something that fits into
their schedule and their personality. “Keep
in mind that you get out what you put in
to your chamber membership,” advised
Christine Pazdur, Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer.
Encouraging People
to Shop Local
Sue Stymiest, Resource Director, is the first
face you see when you walk in and the first
voice you hear when you call. She helps
visitors and residents find things to do in
Valparaiso. “I remember when I first started
here, somebody had called and said that
they were coming for a girls’ weekend,”
Stymiest chuckled. As a local and never
thinking of Valparaiso as a retreat, she soon
realized after investigating that Valparaiso is
“a really fun place to go and explore.”
In addition, the gift certificate program, in
which certificates can be used at more than
100 different participating chamber member
businesses, “helps the money stay in the
community,” added Pazdur.
Developing a Strong,
Thriving Business Community
“If you have a strong business community,
you’re going to have a strong community,”
said Stymiest.
On one hand, the Valpo Chamber is
dedicated to helping businesses grow. On
the other hand, the Chamber engages in
creating a thriving community by

grow, succeed, and prosper.”
incentivizing businesses to call Valparaiso
their home. “Our close proximity to the third
largest business community in the United
States, a vibrant downtown, our growing
housing, and a renowned school system has
helped attract businesses and individuals to
live here,” said Rex Richards, President of the
Valpo Chamber. New housing developments
in Valparaiso have started to attract
commercial businesses from other locations.
Vanessa Lynch, Executive Vice President of
Economic Development and Operations,
connects those looking to move or start a
business in Valparaiso to companies that
can make this dream a reality. Indiana, with
a business-supportive environment and
a tax-friendly climate, is already enticing
to businesses. Lynch simply supports
Valparaiso as a place “where people want to
live so that businesses follow.”
The Secret Ingredient?
Passion.
Each staff member showed a sense of
pride, enthusiasm, and enjoyment about
working at the Chamber. “We have six fulltime
employees buying into our mission to
help businesses expand and improve the
community,” said Richards.
Some landed their position through
recommendations while others, like Edwards,
manifested it. Ever since her first Chamber
meeting via her previous company, Edwards
knew this job was for her. The previous Vice
President of Programs and Communications
gave Edwards an inside look at what the role
entailed, and she thought, “This is going
to be my job one day.” Lo and behold, the
position was available, and she jumped at the
opportunity. “I really think what makes the
Valpo Chamber so special is just a genuine
shared love of Chamber work, having fun, and
seeing the end result,” said Lynch.
Valpo Chamber
is the Heart and Soul
of the Community
Not all chambers have what Valparaiso has.
“Not many communities have people and
businesses wanting to be involved,” said
Richards. Most are small with one or two
employees, unable to produce publications
like the one you’re holding in your hands
right now. The Valpo Chamber is fortunate
to have a passionate team who choose every
day to help businesses grow, succeed, and
prosper. “The key is we have a tremendous
staff here, and one person cannot do
everything,” commented Richards.
“When you have a dedicated staff that is
wanting to ensure this chamber succeeds,
you’re going to pour your heart and guts
into your job not only for yourself, but for the
chamber you represent,” said Zacharias. >>

Company for 30 years and was a previous
Chamber member before taking this role
responsible for nurturing relationships
with advertisers, partners, new members,
and ambassadors.
Where would you go
if you could go anywhere?
I like to travel so I want to see it all –
Scotland, Portugal, Spain, Alaska, and
France. I just feel that we’re better people if
we can immerse ourselves in other cultures.
What superpower do you bring
to the Valpo Chamber?
Since I’m a people person, I can make
people very comfortable quite easily.
Recently, I invited a nervous member to sit
with me at her first Chamber event. She said
to me, “You made us feel welcome and that
was so important to me and my husband.”
What do you do in
your free time?
When I’m not working, I like to read
books, watch murder mysteries, and
deepen my friendships.

As an experienced news reporter and
publication owner for 12 years, Edwards
draws from her background to coordinate
the Chamber’s events and magazine.
What is your favorite series?
My favorite would be the Harry Potter series.
I loved reading the books and watching all
the movies and then, with my kids, we reread
and watched them all again.
What Valpo Chamber event
are you most looking forward
to?
I’ve been to Chamber Network Night about
three times with my previous company and it
was always so much fun. So, I’m most excited
to be on the other end of Chamber Network
Night, planning and coordinating the biggest
event we have.
What is something many
people get wrong about you?
Even though I was a news reporter, I don’t
enjoy public speaking. There’s something
different about talking to the camera and
standing in front of people watching me.
Right out of college at 22 years of age,
Richards was hired as president of his first
chamber and worked at a several different
chambers across the country before coming
to run the Valpo Chamber 17 years ago.
How many chambers have you
been associated with?
I’ve run seven chambers in three different
states over my total career.
In your opinion, which
networking events would help
businesses gain awareness?
I have a couple. We get a lot of social media
exposure when we do ribbon cuttings.
Another event that’s very important is our
countywide Chamber Network Night.
What do you enjoy most about
your job?
Historically, I’ve always enjoyed doing
business development. Which is why I am
also the president of a not-for-profit called
the Valparaiso Economic Development
Corporation. It’s a private partnership that
helps work to bring new jobs and investment

Previously a teacher’s aide, Stymiest was
looking for something more permanent
in 2011 when her friends at the Chamber
recommended her for this position.
What is one Valparaiso
business that you can’t stay
away from?
While I enjoy visiting all Valpo Chamber
members, The Spice and Tea Exchange has
been a frequent stop for me lately. I never
really thought fresh spices could make such
a difference when you’re cooking until I
brought some home to make dinner and
my family was asking for second and third
helpings.
What do you like to do
in your free time?
I spend time with my family, going on
trips, and taking pictures of nature and my
grandson. Photography is a hobby of mine.
What is your favorite thing
about the Valpo Chamber?
The excitement new members have when
they join and you tell them everything we
have to offer to help them grow.
For the past 14 years, Pazdur has been
managing payroll, receivables, payables and
financial statements.
What do you like to do in
your free time?
I've spent most of my time attending my
three kids’ activities. Now that I have only
one child at home finishing high school, I’m
learning to relax. I enjoy going to Zumba and
hanging out at my pool.
If you could go anywhere,
where would you go?
I haven’t traveled much at all so I have a lot to
see. I prefer warm weather and beaches.
Being one of the longesttenured

what do you think makes
the culture so special?
Rex has always been an understanding
boss, especially when it comes to family.
Everybody gets along in the office. We've
become great friends and I enjoy their
company out of the office too.

Drawing on her accounting, restaurant
management, and hospitality experience,
Lynch took a leap of faith when she
transitioned from being a stay-at-home
mom of 14 years to diving back into the
professional world, ultimately landing
at the chamber.
What do you like most
about working at the Valpo
Chamber?
I am floored at the number of quality
relationships that I have made. I’m so
honored to know these people that
I call friends.
What do you do in your free
time?
I love spending time with my kids. They’re at
an age where I only have a certain amount of
time left where they are going to be able to
vacation with us.
What Valparaiso business do
you frequently visit?
I literally salivate when I’m in the Beef Mart.
Their Philly Cheese Steak Bratwursts are the
best and I make three new friends every time
I go in.

VALPO CHAMBER'S ROLE IN BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY

Nestled in the heart of Valparaiso, the history
of the Chamber of Commerce is a testament to
resilience and community growth. This article
explores the roots, milestones, and ongoing
impact of this pivotal organization.
Valparaiso, “The ideal home city: schools,
churches, recreation. Clean, wholesome,
delightful.” This description of the growing
Northwest Indiana town was posted in the
January 23, 1928, issue of the Valparaiso
Vidette Messenger. It was published alongside
an advertisement encouraging residents
to join the Chamber of Commerce, which
described itself at the time as the “general
agent for the upbuilding of Valparaiso. The
true function of the Chamber of Commerce is
to sell the city, its splendid possibilities, and its
great opportunities to all.”
Over the course of the 111 years the Valpo
Chamber has existed, the local community has
endured world wars, economic depressions,
and two global pandemics. Conversely, it has
also experienced the benefits of globalization,
technological advancements, and medical
breakthroughs. Despite these global ups
and downs, the founding vision of the Valpo
Chamber of Commerce has remained the
same. No matter the decade or world events,
the chamber has remained committed to
serving the needs of the local business
community, while continuing to preserve,
enhance, and promote the unique character of
greater Valparaiso.
Early Roots
Originally organized under the name of the
Valparaiso Commercial Club in 1909, the
group was “made up of the city's business and
professional men who early realized that for
the community to move ahead organization
of some kind was necessary," recounted
John Sievers, the first President of the Valpo
Chamber, in the March 18, 1937, issue of the
Vidette Messenger honoring the chamber’s
25th anniversary. The chamber obtained its
official charter in 1912.
Sievers was a merchant in Valparaiso for more
than 60 years. He goes on to describe what
those early years were like in the chamber,
including how his business, Heineman &
Sievers, The People’s Drug Store donated
wallpaper and paint to the chamber’s first
headquarters location. It is obvious in his
recollection how much pride he and other
chamber members had for their local
community. These foundational years would
set up the success of the chamber for years
to come.
Navigating Historic Milestones
Paving New Roads Forward
One of the most significant milestones
during Sievers’ tenure as chamber president
was establishing a new bus line between
Valparaiso, Hebron, and Kouts. It became so
successful that they eventually sold it to the
company Jahn’s Bus Line in 1921.
For its entire history, Valparaiso has been
a transportation hub for the region. As
Valparaiso continued to grow, there was a
need for a north-south highway bypass. In
1964, the Chamber of Commerce president
George E. Neely and Mayor Don Will made
a petition to state highway commissioners.
In an unprecedented act, the Chamber of
Commerce produced a 30-minute film to
illustrate this need as part of their petition.
This would eventually result in the construction
of the Van Ness Highway, commonly known as
State Road 49.
Receiving National Recognition
In 1975, a committee was created to pursue
accreditation with the United States Chamber
of Commerce. Undergoing this accreditation
is a rigorous, months long, comprehensive
evaluation. “On September 19th, 1975, we
started the accreditation process by the U.S.
Chamber. We spent over a thousand hours
reviewing the chamber, and its role in the
community. We had several subcommittees
and we eventually received accreditation in
November of 1976,” reflected Jack Shaffer,
former Executive Vice President from

enterprise, and for their commitment to
serving members and their local businesses.”
More recently, the Valpo Chamber was a
national finalist for the 2018 Chamber of the
Year award by the Association of Chamber of
Commerce Executives. “To be recognized by
an independent entity was a high point for the
Valpo Chamber. They recognized our efforts
and our accomplishments and the services
we give to the community,” said Rex Richards,
current president of the chamber.
The Chamber's Role in
Fostering Community
Civic Engagement
Even during the early, foundational years of
the Valpo Chamber there was an emphasis
placed on community gatherings and civic
engagement. “Valparaiso is a fine city, and its
progress must be achieved by the men and
women who live here and work here. If we
can rekindle the spirit of neighborliness…of
interest in civic communities of Porter County
and Porter County as a whole, all things else
will come,” said John Sievers, in the same
Vidette Messenger article from 1937.
One of the most popular current community
events, the Popcorn Festival, was founded by
the Valpo Chamber. It is now managed and
organized by Valparaiso Events. 2023 marks
its 44th year. "We've come back a few times to
the festival and have enjoyed seeing how it's
grown and matured," said Jack Shaffer, who
was a chamber member during its conception.
Civic engagement remains high on the list of
priorities for the current chamber. “I’ve never
had a chamber that had the civic engagement
of our business community like Valparaiso.
There’s tremendous belief from the citizens
who live here. They love this community,” said
Rex Richards.
Networking for Members
A key benefit of joining a chamber of
commerce is the connections you can make
with other members. April Wolford, Banking
Center Manager at 1st Source Bank, has
served as a board member, is an ambassador,
and has been chair of Chamber Network Night
for 18 years. “Once I came off the board, I
became an ambassador. We welcome new
members in and get assigned a new member
to help them and be a contact for them. It’s a
great way to see the new businesses coming
in,” said Wolford.
Wolford actively attends chamber events, from
ribbon cuttings to luncheons. But her favorite
event of the year is Chamber Network Night.
As chair of the event, she helps plan one of
the largest networking events in northwest
Indiana. This fun, themed event is presented
with Duneland and Portage Chambers of
Commerce. Over 100 exhibitors introduce
their products or services where they can
network business-to-business and generate
high-quality leads. “There’s rarely a booth that
isn’t decorated in the theme, and people love
to dress up. You can have so many really good
conversations in that short period of time,”
said Wolford.
Lifelong Friendships
A common theme among all members from
every decade of service is the friendships
they made along the way. John Sievers spoke
highly of his comrades. “Those of us who were
instrumental in organizing Valparaiso’s first
Chamber of Commerce back just twenty-five
years ago have many happy memories…my
but we had fine times.”
Jack Shaffer reminisced while looking
through a scrapbook his wife had made
when he accepted his position as Executive
Vice President for the chamber in 1973.
“As soon as it was announced that we were
moving to Valparaiso I got all kinds of letters
from the president of the Chamber, from
some churches in town welcoming us to the
community. There were great community
leaders we had the opportunity to interact
with. We really felt that people opened their
arms to us. Not all small towns welcome an
outsider,” said Shaffer.
More recently April Wolford described the
friendships she has made during her 20
years of service. “Through the chamber you
can develop a relationship with someone
who is working in a totally different industry.
I've made really good friends through the
Chamber. And anytime I need any kind of
service, like around the house or something,
I go to the Valpo Chamber directory first.
I believe if they care to be a part of the
community and they care to be a part of the
Chamber, that's a really great business,"
said Wolford.
Honoring a Legacy While
Fostering the Future
From its very beginnings, the Valpo Chamber
was built from members who cared about their
community, their businesses, and each other.
This legacy of passion for Valparaiso and its
surrounding communities has grown and
continues to thrive over one hundred years
later. April Wolford sums up this sentiment.
“You will be surrounded by people who care
about making Valparaiso better, about making
their businesses better, and by default your
business is better. You raise each other up.”

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows

of the IOOF is to “visit the sick, relieve the

orphan.” Chequenk Lodge #56 has been
active in the Valparaiso community since
1848, and currently meets twice per month
in the upper level of the Free Enterprise

community and often donate their time by
volunteering at St. Teresa’s Café Manna and

plaque at the 56th Annual Community Improvement
Awards. The luncheon, sponsored by presenting

A Place in History
The Valpo Chamber’s time conducting business in the
historic Elks Building ties them even more intimately to
the city they serve.

During its century-long tenure
representing local business
interests, the Valpo Chamber has
– understandably – called many
locations home. They originally met in
the Dr. J. R. Ryan Building, a site better
known after it became Lowenstine’s
Department store. The structure
was taken out by a fire in 1996 and
was replaced by what is now the 57
Franklin St. building, which houses
several businesses, including Shive-
Hattery. After stints meeting at the
Armory, located on Franklin Street,
the Schleman Building on Washington,
and offices available at the Lembke
Hotel, the Chamber found themselves
conducting business in the Valparaiso
Lodge, No. 500 of the Elks.
The Valparaiso Lodge of the Elks
was established in May 1899. Their
first meeting was held in the Bondy
building before they eventually moved
into their own space on Lafayette
Street. This original building was
lost to a fire in January of 1924. The
unfortunate circumstances provided
the Elks with an opportunity to expand
and house their operations under
one roof. They purchased the
adjoining property to the west of the
original and rebuilt. Starting in 1925,
the social club used its new space to
provide a lounge, plus separate spaces
for billiards, cards, and meetings
for their members. The Vivians – the
fraternal club’s sororal order – had their
own rooms within the larger building,
set apart by upholstered chairs and
richly patterned carpet. Meeting
rooms were open for reservation to
members and the community.
The Elks remained in the Lafayette
Street space for many years, even
after they relinquished ownership to
Cecil J. “CJ” Spindler. After renting
from Spindler, the lodge negotiated
the purchase of a new space in 1949,
and after some remodeling, the club
moved to 157 Jefferson Street, where
they remain to this day.
Aside from dinner meetings at the
adjacent Lembke Hotel, the Lodge on
Lafayette was home to Chamber
business from 1939-1942. Led by
President Stambaugh, the Chamber
would use this space to plan
community events and outreach.
After moving from the Elks Building,
the Chamber relocated to the
Napoleon Center, where Stacks Bar
and Grill is currently located, and to a
spot on “Library Lane” which has since
been replaced by a parking lot. They
bobbed around Lincolnway, staying
at an office building before spending
several years back in the former Elks
Building at 150 Lincolnway, which had
become by then the Centier building.
Finally, in 2002, the Valpo
Chamber purchased and moved
into their current space at 162 W.
Lincolnway, which was recently
renovated and rechristened the
Free Enterprise Center.

As you have seen, in this issue of the
Valparaiso Magazine we have featured
the Chamber: the organization, the
staff and its facilities. The Chamber
in Valpo was founded in 1912 and
moved into its current location when
it purchased the 162 W. Lincolnway
building almost 20 years ago.
Historically, the 162 W. Lincolnway
building has served as the home to a
wide range of businesses. It originally
served as home to the Grand Opera
House, which was built in 1875 by the
uncle of actress Beulah Bondi, who
played George Bailey's mother in It's a
Wonderful Life. Since that time, it has
housed a clothing store, a carpentry
shop, a funeral home, a Sears and
Roebuck department store, and an
office supply business before becoming
home to the Valpo Chamber. The
Chamber purchased this building from
the Independent Order of Odd Fellows,
a charitable organization. The Odd
Fellows used the second floor for their
organization and ceremonial programs
and, with a handshake agreement, they
continue to meet in the renovated second
level for their bimonthly meetings.
Over the twenty years that the Chamber
has owned the 162 W. Lincolnway
building, there have been three
renovations. The first renovation
occurred when the building was
acquired. At that time, the Chamber
renovated the first level into its
administrative offices. Seven years later,
the Chamber undertook
renovating the second floor into a
conference center that included three
conference rooms of various sizes and
handicap assessable bathrooms. The
third renovation occurred just this year,
in the late spring and early summer
when the Board of Directors approved
a renovation of the main level. The main
level houses the administrative offices
and welcomes Chamber members,
prospective businesses, tourists, and
members of the general public. Over
the last three months, the first floor has
received beautiful, as well as functional,
upgrades. New carpeting has been
installed and the walls received a fresh
and modern paint scheme. Glass walls
have been added to the administrative
area, which are filmed for privacy and
provide more productive workspace for
the staff. Every staff member now has a
private office, except for the Resource
Director who greets visitors and handles
the incoming phone calls.
The Valpo Chamber has successfully
served this community throughout its
111-year history. In the 1920’s, when
the Ku Klux Klan wanted to buy the
University, the Chamber opposed the
purchase and played a significant role in
the sale of the University to the Lutheran
Church. Today, the Chamber continues
to collaborate with local and regional
organizations to promote growth and
advance the interests of business.
As a result, the Chamber has recruited
many of the existing major employees
to the community.

Over the last 20 Years the Valpo
Chamber has received many honors.
Three times, it was selected as the best
Chamber in Indiana by an independent
panel of Judges of the Indiana Chamber
Executives Association. In 2018, it was
selected as the second-best Chamber
in America by the American Chamber
Executives Association. In 2012, Rex
Richards was selected as the Chamber
President of the Year for Indiana. Every
award is a product of hard work and
passion, and much of that work is done
behind the scenes by a team of people.
The Chamber has excelled because of
the teamwork of its staff, its members,
and the community.
The history and impact of this Chamber
has been significant to the City and
the Region. The Chamber undertakes
programs that inform and assist
business. It markets and promotes
this community. Its members are the
heartbeat of the organization. The
Valparaiso Magazine is a product of the
Valpo Chamber that is published four
times a year and goes into 18,000
homes and businesses.
