The Valpo Chamber and the City of Valparaiso
recognized 11 local businesses and organizations for
their commitment and investment with a personalized
plaque at the 56th Annual Community Improvement
Awards. The luncheon, sponsored by presenting
sponsors Northwest Health, NITCO, and Family Express;
featured sponsors: 1st Source Bank, Avalon Springs
Health Campus, CLH, CPAs & Consultants, Larson
Danielson, NIPSCO, Purdue University Northwest, St.
Mary Medical Center, Terry’s Discount Windows & More,
United Healthcare and US Federal Credit Union, was held
in August at the Porter County Expo Center. Nearly 200
chamber members were in attendance.
Community Improvement Awards are based on the
visual impact of exterior appearance and are judged
on the following criteria:
• Enhances the attractiveness of Valparaiso
• Compatible with the area and environment
• Enhances the quality of life and promotes
pride in Valparaiso
• Makes a commitment to Valparaiso's future
These projects will join the more than 400 properties
that have been recognized since the award program
began in 1967.
