Samsung is set to take another technological milestone by making the first foldable
smartphone (Samsung Galaxy X). It could be a game changer, considering how far we have
come with mobile phones.

the project, noting that it would
essentially take the form of a
tablet with multi-tasking features
that would then fold up into a
more portable phone.

The new foldable phone looks to
set a precedent for the shape of
technology in the coming years, as
seen with the flip phones, sliders,
and touchscreens. Samsung mobile
CEO D.J. Koh recently shed some
light on the project, noting that it
would essentially take the form of
a tablet with multi-tasking features
that would then fold up into a more
portable phone. Mr. Koh also said
the phone wouldn’t be a gimmick
and will be available globally when
it is launched, unlike their previous
products, which were available
only in South Korea during their
launch.
Sources close to the production
of the new product, say the device
features a screen that measures
about 7 inches diagonally and can be
folded in half like a wallet. When the
phone is folded, the outside shows a
small display bar on one side and the
other side holds the cameras.
It’s interesting to see how Apple
will react to this unique innovation,
given the very stiff competition
between the giant phone companies.
They often go toe to toe when it
comes to phone upgrades, and
we wait to see if Apple will make
something similar or take a different
direction altogether.
The Samsung foldable phone could see it take the
