History
The land of the Incas, famed for
its magnificent Machu Picchu, is a
living testament to the once great
empire whose golden treasures
continue to be unearthed each
day. One can see ancient ruins
shrouded in mist and mystery
dotted throughout the country,
whilst on the coast unknown
peoples have etched large images
and mysterious lines in the desert
which can only be fully
appreciated from the air.
Elsewhere, Inca foundations blend
with stunning colonial mansions
and many churches show a
fascinating mix of pagan and
Christian beliefs.
