Hopefully by now you will have
seen the Let’s Get Local
posters around Wellington.
The campaign was launched
at the height of the lockdown
to encourage local people to support
local business and thereby help
Wellington stand the best chance of
emerging from the pandemic with a
thriving local economy.
As well as the obvious benefits of using
local shops – many of whom provided
a lifeline delivering food and keeping
us going through lockdown, it’s also
about discovering some of the many less
obvious businesses operated by local
Wellington people.
We encouraged businesses to
come forward on the Love Wellington
Facebook page and tell us what they do
– and we were amazed by the variety of
people out there – who knew that there
was a voiceover artist or a vintage china
hire business in Wellington?
