Predictive Maintenance at <strong>Hydro</strong>power Plants<br />
Many hydropower facilities do show prototype<br />
characteristics, bespoke architectures, adapted<br />
to geographic and business needs with highly<br />
individual technical parameters and are integra-<br />
ted into a fleet of interacting assets. These individual<br />
settings make it difficult to apply off the<br />
shelf analytics. However, using historic data and<br />
advanced analytics it is possible to predict the<br />
remaining useful life for major assets and to identify<br />
anomalies, which common SCADA-systems<br />
are not able to identify.<br />
We use data from a number of sources (SCADA,<br />
maintenance reports, weather, …) and create<br />
digital models, using data analytics and machine<br />
learning, to predict the current and future states<br />
of assets, providing the results in an interactive<br />
way, to enable the technical personal to not only<br />
see the results, but also to modify operational<br />
parameters to identify optimization opportunities.<br />
